Lion's mane is a nootropic fungus that emerges from rotting hardwoods as a single clump of spine-like projections that branch out from a single core and hang like tendrils. The flesh is spongy, and the elongated "teeth" are semi-hollow and somewhat fragile. The mushroom has the color inside and out and the texture of cauliflower.
